Would not say that the lanes on Colum road are suitable for cycling. Need to be segregated.

The junction between Wyeverne, Sailsbury, Coburn and Rhymney is horrible on a bike. Would be nice to see the lanes extended atleast past that junction - possibly joining back to Cathays Terrace?

There are none

2) Do you agree that the existing cycling routes shown (solid blue line) are currently suitable for cycling?

No

Please comment:

The painted on cycle lane on column road is always full of parked cars and impossible to make use of. The road behind uni is a car park and unsafe for cycling with all of the cars reversing out.

Maindy Road. Its a major commuting route with 3 lanes of traffic. May as well be 2 lanes and a bike lane.

Column Rd is marked as having a cycle lane - I don't think dashed lines equals cycle lane. All research points towards painted cycle lanes actually increasing risk to cyclists. Futhermore, these "cycle lanes" are always full of parked cars, making them impossible to use.

3) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking (dashed red line)?

Partially

Please comment:

3 new walking routes is hardly ambitious nor the level of commitment we need in the face of the climate crisis.

4) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking and cycling (dashed blue line)?

Partially

Please comment:

The proposed routes look fantastic, though I am still concerned that the route going up North road will remain disconnected from the castle junction

5) Are there additional routes for walking (existing or proposed) that you think should be shown on the map?

Yes

If yes, please provide details below:

Park Place should be pedestrianised. There are so many alternative routes for traffic that don't pass residential areas - North road is one - and the paving is insufficient for the amount students using it.

6) Are there additional routes for cycling (existing or proposed) that you think should be shown on the map?

Yes

If yes, please provide details below:

Maindy Road is too dangerous to cycle on, and whilst I understand there will be alternative routes for cyclists, people still live along the road and need to cycle places. Furthermore, it is a residential road and unsuitable for 3 lanes of traffic. One lane could easily be removed to fit in a cycle lane and promote active travel.
