No

Please comment:

There are no existing walking routes on the map

2) Do you agree that the existing cycling routes shown (solid blue line) are currently suitable for cycling?

No

Please comment:

There are no existing cycling routes on the map, this area has been allowed to be dominated by cars which urgently needs correcting.

3) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking (dashed red line)?

No

Please comment:

These don’t show any joined up walking routes, is the intention to have a safe and area walking route?

4) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking and cycling (dashed blue line)?

Yes

Please comment:

This looks good, we need a safe, bi-directional cycle lane that allows everyone to safely travel across Cardiff on their bicycles, and possibly e-scooters where appropriate.

5) Are there additional routes for walking (existing or proposed) that you think should be shown on the map?

Yes

If yes, please provide details below:

The Cyncoed map has very limited proposed walking routes, is this correct? The red dashed lines don’t seem to join to create a walking route?

6) Are there additional routes for cycling (existing or proposed) that you think should be shown on the map?

No

If yes, please provide details below:

7) Do you agree with the proposals in the schedule of schemes for this ward?

Yes

There are far too many cars on the road in this area and this needs correcting urgently. I would support the cycle scheme being rolled out ASAP, though would urge this to be the safe, segregated cycle lanes seen elsewhere to really encourage more cycling. We need to greatly reduce the pollution and general hazards from the number of cars on the road currently and so I encourage the Council to be ambitious in its plans, which in fairness these look to be achieving.

8) Are there any additional schemes you think should be included in the schedule of schemes?

No

Please comment, including location information:

9) Do you have any other comments on the Draft Active Travel Network Map for Cardiff?

As above, I fully support the move away from use of cars to active travel but this does need to be implemented quickly and supported by other measures such as speed cameras etc to ensure those who are still using their cars drive at an appropriate speed to allow cyclists and walkers to feel safe. The balance on the roads needs to ensures that cars, vans, lorries etc are lower down the list than active travel and public transport.

Llandennis Road and the Oval should be designated as a walking route in recognition of its proximity to key public services (including shops, banks, dentist and Rhydypenau Hwb) and its role as key route for school pupils attending both Rhydypeanau Primary and Cardiff High.

I can't see any information on what changes would be made to a "proposed route" - i.e. what will you actually be doing?

4) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking and cycling (dashed blue line)?

No

Please comment:

I wanted to raise my objection to the proposed cycle super highway route through Nant Fawr Woodland. I feel that a wide, well-lit and tarmaced "super highway" cycle path on the lines of those being developed in Bute Park and the Taff Trail is entirely inappropriate in a site of importance for nature conservation. Such a feature would harm the ecology and bio-diversity of the area, with the possible 24 hour lighting having a damaging effect on or bat populations and would present a potential health and safety issue as this area is so heavily used by pedestrians with young children and dogs.
