Not shown on the map - but as per comments in previous consultation - the cycle lane on St. Fagans Road is in major need of a revamp. Cars cut into, it runs round a parking area, and as usual, it's the worst surfaced part of the road - potholes galore.

3) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking (dashed red line)?

No

Please comment:

These streets are wide enough to walk any way, surely?

4) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking and cycling (dashed blue line)?

Partially

Please comment:

Finchley Road/ Bwlch Road etc. could be improved for cycling, but currently people constantly overtaking with minimum room. Also, fairwater garage and its parking needs to be sorted out first/ real danger/ blind spot with cars often on double yellows etc. However, if a really significantly improved cycle lane/ pedestrian zone was set up - it would potentially be nicer than cycling on the current infrastructure on St. Fagans Road. Cycling provision on the other proposed roads makes sense!

St Fagans Road - existing infrastructure requires major revamp/ may be an actual separate cycle lane

Very happy to see the Ely trail is finally going to be properly opened up so we can access Sanatorium park/ Ely trail without having to cut across Canton/ carry bikes over the footbridge at Royal Mail office

1) Do you agree that the existing walking routes shown (solid red line) are currently suitable for walking?

Partially

Please comment:

There are NO solid red lines. The broken red lines indicate routes which are obviously already used. Wellwright Road and St Fagans Road have long been used as walking routes! Why are Fairways Crescent, Everswell Road not designated as routes?

2) Do you agree that the existing cycling routes shown (solid blue line) are currently suitable for cycling?

Partially

Please comment:

No solid blue lines shown. The broken blue line routes are already used for cycling and quite satisfactory although crossing the busy Cowbridge Road West from Wroughton Place can be difficult .

3) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking (dashed red line)?

Yes

Please comment:

I am curious to know why routes have to be designated or proposed! Surely people can walk wherever they choose and make choices of their own!

4) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking and cycling (dashed blue line)?

Yes

Please comment:

Surely they do not need to be "proposed"--they are already being used for walking and cycling.

It would seem a good idea to install CCTV cameras along various places where walkers and cyclists are on relatively isolated paths/trails. There are some people who do not feel secure in such places especially during the darker months of the year. Further, along many of the cycle/walking routes , especially "trail" areas there is an increasing number of individuals/groups who use trail bikes on these pathways. Being unpoliced this can be intimidating. Some sort of lockable barriers similar to the ones used in Grangemoor Park could stop this behaviour if they were more frequently positioned.
