Why not extending the walking route at the northern end of North Clive Street with Virgil Street to create continuity with the combined route proposed along Virgil St?

Why no use Clive Lane as walking/cycling route instead of Clive Street already congested with a narrow road and parking either on both sides (and often middle pavement too!).

1) Do you agree that the existing walking routes shown (solid red line) are currently suitable for walking?

No

Please comment:

This is confusing and, perhaps, misleading. Every road is used by people walking and cycling and every road should be suitable for that purpose. There are no separate routes set aside for cars either, for instance. What is needed is parity and infrastructure and junction sign that allows ALL road users to use roads safely and on an equal basis with all other modes of transport.

No

Yes, every public road on that map.

6) Are there additional routes for cycling (existing or proposed) that you think should be shown on the map?

Yes

If yes, please provide details below:

Yes, every single road on that map.

7) Do you agree with the proposals in the schedule of schemes for this ward?

Partially

Please comment, including the relevant scheme reference number(s) in your comments:

There are actually no real proposals, just additional coloured lines on a map. What matters is what that infrastructure looks like.

8) Are there any additional schemes you think should be included in the schedule of schemes?

Yes

Please comment, including location information:

See previous answers.

This seems a pointless exercise delaying real progress. This must the the 5th or 6th such survey I have completed. What is needed is some real action and progress on schemes already in hand.

8) Are there any additional schemes you think should be included in the schedule of schemes?

Yes

Please comment, including location information:

Redevelopment of Channel View area expected to include new bridge link to Butetown. Current foot / cycle route alongside A4232 bridge is very noisy and intimidating so close to fast traffic

The walkway along the waterfront between the Watermark building and Cardiff Bay Yacht Club is not shown, but is a popular route for walkers which offers great water views. (this path actually goes in front of Watermark but has been closed for nearly 2 years) The path between the river Ely and the roundabout on Ferry road by IKEA is not shown.

Consideration should be given to link routes within the area to the wider surrounding countryside to provide safer recreational cycling.
