1) Do you agree that the existing walking routes shown (solid red line) are currently suitable for walking?

No

Please comment:

There are none on the map

2) Do you agree that the existing cycling routes shown (solid blue line) are currently suitable for cycling?

No

Please comment:

There are none on the map

3) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking (dashed red line)?

Partially

Please comment:

There is not enough detail on the map to be able to make any useful comment. Some of these walking routes just run for a few 100 meters or from one end of a street to the other. This looks like a token gesture to meet a target for the length of walking routes in the city but adds no discernible value.

4) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking and cycling (dashed blue line)?

No

Please comment:

There is not enough detail on the map to be able to make any useful comment. Some of these routes are not on highways and there is no information about the routes these cycleways will take, how they will be constructed, the impact on green space, or safety.

5) Are there additional routes for walking (existing or proposed) that you think should be shown on the map?

No

6) Are there additional routes for cycling (existing or proposed) that you think should be shown on the map?

No

7) Do you agree with the proposals in the schedule of schemes for this ward?

No

Please comment, including the relevant scheme reference number(s) in your comments:

There is insufficient information in this consultation to make an informed decision on these proposals. This is a flawed consultation that is not fit for purpose.

8) Are there any additional schemes you think should be included in the schedule of schemes?

No

9) Do you have any other comments on the Draft Active Travel Network Map for Cardiff?

There is insufficient information in this consultation to make an informed decision on these proposals. This is a flawed consultation that is not fit for purpose. Most of these proposals appear to be a tokenistic approach that is just a way of meeting a target for length of walking and cycling routes without actually adding value.

Not enough connections. Paths don't join up. Missing section on circle way east and circle way west.

Better connections from Llanedeyrn to Rumney. For example, if you are in Well Wood, getting to New Road or Newport Road by foot or cycle is incredibly difficult.

Mainly just the difficulty of getting from Llanedeyrn or Pentwyn to Rumney/Newport Road without a car. I moved to Bryn Celyn in 1976 and lived in Lanedeyrn on and off since 1981. Public transport between Llanedeyrn and Newport Rd was never brilliant but it is particularly bad now. Getting there by bike means cycling up to and then down Penylan hill, in what feels like a giant U-turn. Getting there by foot is a long and lovely summer stroll across the fields, but is more of an 'outing' than a practical route to travel. In short, rather than thinking about travel *within* an area or radiating outwards from the city centre, please consider cross-city traffic fir those without access to cars. A pedestrian/cycle route along the a4232 would be perfect; there is already a walking route through the Howardian nature reserve that connects up to Ipswitch road... So all that is needed is some improvement in the infrastructure there and some way of getting across the A48. Alternatively, there is a preexisting subway (north of the roundabout, not far from Chappel Wood) that allows access from Llanedeyrn to the Rumney River, only the path goes north. If it could instead go south and follow the A4232, it could join up with the bottom of Newport Rd hill, near Rumney Pottery.

Zoomed in sections to help children focus on their immediate surroundings near the school would be good to help. Visuals with what the new paths look like would also help the children 'see' what the changes would look like.
