Needs to be weather proof as the area is often subjected to heavy rain and also to be well lit if it is to be used

Improved links from Pentyrch to Creigiau for safe cycling with children

As above and also safely down the hill. Towards llantrisant road down church road would also be an added bonus.

We cannot cycle to Creigiau safely at them moment. Many residents need to access both villages. Our children are at school there and we would consider cycling if there was a safer route. The lanes are too dangerous to cycle with children.

Please comment:

An off road section for the entire length of Heol Goch would be better. There are historic quarry tracks which could be used to ensure the proposed cycle route was off road all the way to the bottom of the hill.

More pavement is required.

Having cycled this road I can confirm this is an extremely dangerous and scary road to cycle. There are no cycle lanes and as there are drains along the side of the road it is very hard to keep left continuously. It is also a very fast road where a lot of large heavy goods vehicles drive. There is also no lightning along thid road either. A cycle lane or path just off the road would benefit as this road is an accident waiting for to happen.

3) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking (dashed red line)?

Yes

4) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking and cycling (dashed blue line)?

Massive benefit to those cycling to the village. It would certainly encourage me to cycle more as this road is my worst nightmare and puts me off commuting to work daily on a bike.

5) Are there additional routes for walking (existing or proposed) that you think should be shown on the map?

Yes

If yes, please provide details below:

Church Road - the lane between Rhydlafar and pentyrch. Again this is a fast lane running to pentyrch village. It is very windy where often cyclists and walkers cannot be seen until last minute. There is no cycle/walker friendly route that has street lights into Pentyrch Village which is disappointing and unsafe.
