1) Do you agree that the existing walking routes shown (solid red line) are currently suitable for walking?

Partially

Please comment:

Lack of bins on route

3) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking (dashed red line)?

No

Please comment:

Unclear how this would work.will parks Ng spaces be lost on Neville street?I live on Neville street and have a parking permit but regularly have to park streets away due to no spaces.

4) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking and cycling (dashed blue line)?

No

Please comment:

Unclear how this would work on Neville street.not enough parking spaces for residents with permits as it currently is.also cars speed down the street and too much traffic isn't much extra space.bike lane awkward on pavement as is.lot of rubbish from people using street as thoroughfare, really affects residents negatively.

5) Are there additional routes for walking (existing or proposed) that you think should be shown on the map?

Yes

If yes, please provide details below:

Instead of funneling everyone through one route have a few options to dilute the effect.

6) Are there additional routes for cycling (existing or proposed) that you think should be shown on the map?

Yes

If yes, please provide details below:

Don't send the cycle routes on the busiest routes so more people feel comfortable using them.

7) Do you agree with the proposals in the schedule of schemes for this ward?

No

Please comment, including location information:

Some one way systems might help.roundabout at bottom of Neville street is dangerous as cars speed through without stopping, would not want to bike near it.

9) Do you have any other comments on the Draft Active Travel Network Map for Cardiff?

Bristol has public scooters for hire, could some of these be set up in Cardiff as a trial?more bins on walking routes to reduce litter from pedestrians, foot pedal ones so multiple people aren't touching bin lid daily and spreading germs/covid would be amazing and stop smells and seagulls emptying bins.cycle route from Clare gardens direct to nos da and river rather than having to go up to cathedral road.

There is no safe way of turning in to streets from Wellington Road and it comes to abrupt end.

Please comment:

There are none yet

2) Do you agree that the existing cycling routes shown (solid blue line) are currently suitable for cycling?

Yes

Please comment:

There is a choke point outside Nos Da - signage should be placed to encourage cyclists to use the new cycling cut-through at the top of Plantagenet St, via Brook St and Despenser St - actually this is also addressed via TT5

3) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking (dashed red line)?

Partially

Please comment:

Yes, however there should be more

4) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking and cycling (dashed blue line)?

5) Are there additional routes for walking (existing or proposed) that you think should be shown on the map?

Yes

If yes, please provide details below:

Yes, the main one would be via Wyndham Pl & St/Machen Pl/Clare Gdns/Despenser Pl

6) Are there additional routes for cycling (existing or proposed) that you think should be shown on the map?

If yes, please provide details below:

7) Do you agree with the proposals in the schedule of schemes for this ward?

Partially

Please comment, including the relevant scheme reference number(s) in your comments:

There appear to be a number of proposed routes on the map that do not have scheme reference numbers. e.g. the walking/cycling route along Clare St and then Neville St has no reference.

8) Are there any additional schemes you think should be included in the schedule of schemes?

Yes

Please comment, including location information:

Clare St/Neville St: With the Tudor St and Despenser Gardens developments underway and proposed - it makes obvious sense to join both of these with a proper cycle lane that would link to Wellington St via Neville St (it also makes sense to join the cycle routes between Tudor St and Wellington St). Currently the pavements along Clare St are in a terrible state of repair, suffering from subsidence and creating easily flooded sections that force pedestrians (including women with buggies, children, elderly) into the busy street to pass.

9) Do you have any other comments on the Draft Active Travel Network Map for Cardiff?

A bus gate operating during rush hour between Clare Gardens and Despenser Gardens would massively reduce traffic along Clare St while at the same time promoting bus routes as a unique option for travelling through the gate - this would also promote greater active travel as people walk to and from the bus stops of the buses they're using. Further gains in the area would be made by commuters affected potentially switching to active travel methods such as cycling instead of using their cars. Yet more local people might be encouraged to walk/cycle as that route becomes more pleasant/easier to cross/the parks are used more. Also the benefit to cleaner air, as surely Clare St must suffer quite badly from air pollution.

I can't see any solid red lines apart from one small one I'm not familiar with

Yes

When you say 'new routes for walking' what do you mean? Pedestrianised? No bikes? It's possible to walk along these routes now as there are pavements. It's not clear.

4) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking and cycling (dashed blue line)?

Yes

Please comment:

I would welcome being able to cycle down Cathedral Road safely. Also the temporary cycleway on Wellington Road is really welcome.

There is a lack of detail on the nature of the walking routes and cycle routes. Are the walking routes pedestrian only? Are you planning on making some of these cycle routes e.g King's Road which has cars parked on both sides, one-way for cars? Or access only for cars to residents? It's difficult to envisage what some of these routes will look like. But in terms of having more cycle routes - bring them one!

1) Do you agree that the existing walking routes shown (solid red line) are currently suitable for walking?

No

Please comment:

Walking routes next to the river should be made for walkers not cyclists. Dog walkers families walk thatroute and your creating a hazard. Cycle routes should be directed from the Sofia gardens centre to the right of the caravan park away from walkers and cars.

2) Do you agree that the existing cycling routes shown (solid blue line) are currently suitable for cycling?

No

Please comment:

As above and no need for cycleroute up Cathedral roadcas it will restrict resident parking

4) Do you agree with the proposed new routes for walking and cycling (dashed blue line)?

No

Please comment:

Reduce cycle route on Cathedral Road and don't mix walkers and cyclists with a dedicated route next to the river otherwise it will cause accidents

If yes, please provide details below:

Reduce the cycleroutes. Spending a lot of money on the minority with no consideration for walkers residents disabled or elderly persons. It's over the top and not proportionate. K agree putting cycleroutes on the main artery roads like Newprt Road or Cowbridge, but not residential roads like allensbank or cathedral. I certainly do not agree with putting dedicated routes mixed with walkers next to the river, ivesee multiple cyclists already doing 20 to 39mph down tgat stretch hitting kids parents and dogs alike. It's not appropriate
